Some Benefits of Massage Empty
PostSubject: Some Benefits of Massage   Some Benefits of Massage EmptyThu May 15, 2008 1:58 pm

The basic goal of Massage Therapy is to help the body to heal itself and promote health and well-being.

As our muscles are overworked waste products like lactic acids are built up in the muscles causing spasms, stiffness, soreness, and muscle cramping.

Massage increases circulation which increases blood flow to those muscles thus increasing the flow of oxygen in the area. Increased oxygen results in quicker healing from injury or illness.

Therapeutic massage increases self-awareness as well as self-esteem; while it also benefits in aiding the circulatory system as well as the immune system. These enhancements lead to lower blood pressure, better circulation, increases muscle tone, aides in digestion, aides in the increase of circulation of the lymphatic drainage and helps promote healthy skin tone.

Physically massage aides in relieving sore stiff muscles, and reducing muscle spasm. It also helps to alleviate discomforts associated with pregnancy.

Mentally massage fosters a peace of mind. It relaxes and calms the central nervous system, enhancing the capacity for calm thinking and creativity.

Overall massage fosters a sense of well-being; enabling one to be fully aware of one’s whole self.
